The homeowner draws inspiration for her renovation from a luxury store in Singapore, using its elegant color palette as the foundation for her home’s design. She envisions a space that embodies the sophistication of Victorian design, with intricate details, classic molding, and a timeless aesthetic. As an avid baker, she dreams of a baker-friendly island in the kitchen, complete with ample counter space for kneading dough, decorating cakes, and other culinary activities. Additionally, she prioritizes the need for more storage to accommodate her collection of baking appliances, ensuring her kitchen remains organized and functional while reflecting her refined taste.

How We Overcome The Design Challenges

To bring the homeowner’s vision to life, we meticulously recreated the look of the luxury store she adored, ensuring that her home exuded the same refined elegance. Victorian design, known for its intricate detailing and superior craftsmanship, was incorporated throughout the space, from the classic wood trimmings to the ornate moldings. Despite the challenges of the cost-intensive Victorian style, we carefully balanced her desire for opulence with practicality, ensuring that every element stayed true to her vision while maintaining functionality.

A key feature of the renovation was the custom-designed island, which became the heart of the kitchen for her baking activities. We selected premium sintered stone for the island, countertops, and backsplash, ensuring durability while seamlessly tying into the luxurious Victorian aesthetic of the home. This choice enhanced the cohesive design and provided a practical, heat-resistant surface perfect for baking. Every detail, down to the hardware and finishes, was chosen with care to match the overall style. The homeowner’s meticulous attention to detail was reflected in her constant confirmations, from the lighting to the door knobs, ensuring each element aligned with the sophisticated theme.

To address her need for storage, we innovatively designed a walk-in storage area hidden behind the sofa to house her extensive collection of baking appliances. This addition doubled the available storage space, supplementing the existing bomb shelter and maintaining the home’s uncluttered and elegant appearance. By ensuring every storage solution, surface, and detail adhered to the Victorian style, we created a home that seamlessly blended functionality and timeless luxury, tailored perfectly to the homeowner’s needs and aspirations.
